Sicelo Buthelezi, an award-winning actor, has joined Skeem Saam’s cast as Tobias “Toby” Maswahla.

Is the latest character in Skeem Saam, Tobias “Toby” Maswahla, played by a fan favorite, related to Evelyn?
Evelyn Maswahla is played by Vele Manenje, an award-winning actress and television personality.
Skeem Saam viewers believe Evelyn is Tobias’ mother since she mentioned having a son when she was dating Wallet.
Manenje told The Citizen in 2021 that Evelyn is from Ga-Mothiba and appears “strange” when people first encounter her.
“Evelyn, a former schoolteacher from Ga-Mothiba, is articulate and intelligent. She is also an avid reader with a passion for poetry, and she meets a man with whom she develops a strong, romantic bond,” the statement stated.
Evelyn is now the assistant principal at Turfloop High School in the popular soap opera.

According to Buthelezi joining Skeem Saam has been a wonderful experience and he’s enjoying it.
“Joining the Skeem Saam family has been fantastic. It’s a strange atmosphere, but it feels familiar. “I am enjoying it.”
On Tuesday, April 2, viewers will meet Tobias Maswahla, a university student who was expelled and had to go to Turfloop.
According to SABC, his character changes his ways, enrolls in Turfloop University, and even gets a part-time job.
The actor is well known for playing Teddy, a teenage character in Mzansi Magic’s canned drama Gomora.
He made his debut in the premiere in March 2020 and received the Outstanding Newcomer Award at the fourth Royalty Soapie Awards.
