According to TshisaLIVE, Gcina Mkhize’s former Isibaya co-star, Asavela Mngqithi, recently donated R2000.
According to the publication, Mkhize received more than R20 000 in donations following her viral video in which she asked for them. Mkhize tells the publication that other people have made payments into her personal bank account, totaling more than R20,000.
“I would like to thank everyone who has donated to our BackaBuddy campaign. I’d also like to thank everyone who has made a deposit into my personal account. All of the money is making a significant difference in our lives. My kids and I are eternally grateful. “We are deeply humbled by your kindness,” she stated.
Her other industry friends, including Celeste Ntuli, Nomzamo Mbatha, Puleng Ndlovu, Retha M, Angie Sekgobane, Khanyi Tshabalala, Nomonde Mbusi, Muzi Mthabela, Khanyo Maphumulo, and Bongani Gumede, have also contacted her. Mkhize also adds that her neighbours and childhood friends contributed what they could.
GCINA MKHIZE: Unemployed.
Gcina Mkhize, a former Isibaya actress, also told Sunday World that she has only worked five days this year.
Mkhize most recently worked on Showmax’s brand-new legal series, Law, Love, and Betrayal.
“I’ve only worked five days since January 2024. The acting industry is competitive, and when you stand up for yourself, people dislike you,” she says.
The actress also admits that some people are still offended by the video she made about Covid vaccines. She also admits that she has come to accept the fact that the industry has its own people. She is ready to pack her bags, leave, and pursue other opportunities.
