Popular radio personality Penny Ntuli has announced her departure from Gagasi FM, after years of service at the famous KwaZulu-Natal radio station.
According to Penny, the broadcaster offered her a salary of R2 800 per month, which is well below the minimum wage.
The radio presenter confirmed the news with an emotional post on her Instagram page, in which she claimed that she made every effort to negotiate and convince management to see things her way, but her efforts were unsuccessful.
She published a different post that included a screenshot of her offer letter:
“I was insulted, but I calmed down and returned to management to request a salary review. With that money, I’ll be unable to achieve anything. I inquired how I would feed my family as they all looked at me.I’ve decided to ask them not to renew my contract this year. I did not give up because I found something better, nor did I stop because I no longer enjoy it. “I am passionate about broadcasting and Gagasi FM, as everyone knows.”But it is true. I’m not returning this year, but I’m quite grateful to Gagasi FM for the opportunity.”
Netizens are surprised that Gagasi FM paid Penny so little for her efforts.
Previously, people were startled to find that DJ Speedsta earned R10,000 per month from his position at Metro FM.
