Sello Maake kaNcube has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife Pearl Mbewe.
According to Sunday World, the former The Queen actor and his wife split up last year.
MAKE KANCUBE AND WIFE’S MARRIAGE WOES
According to a source, the couple, who married in 2021, had an altercation regarding Maake kaNcube’s claimed former partner, which caused the actor to chase Mbewe out of their marital house in Dube, Soweto.
Cynthia Hlahla, better known as Lacoste, is said to be the previous partner with whom Maake KaNcube was allegedly flirting. According to Sunday World, during their text discussions, the Skeem Saam star inquired about Hlahla’s relationship status. He apparently also told her that she was always on his thoughts. Hlahla, on the other hand, did not seem to believe his narrative.
“She claimed he was only pretending to love her and that she knew he was in love with Pearl. She even begged him to be honest with her and tell her whether he wants her to help him leave South Africa for the United States rather than lying about having feelings for her,” the insider claimed.
MAKAKE KANCUBE CONFIRMS CONTACTING DIVORCE LAWYERS
After Maake kaNcube’s wife moved out, the actor reportedly attempted to renew their romance by sending a delegation to pay the remaining lobolo for her, but Mbewe declined his efforts.
After failing to woo Mbewe back, the actor hired Swanepoel van Zyl Attorneys to assist him in filing for divorce. According to reports, the firm demanded an upfront payment of R25,000.
Maake KaNcube revealed to Sunday World that he had contacted the law firm.
“I have not even paid them yet,” he stated.
Previous Marriage
Maake kaNcube was previously married to Palesa Mboweni, whom he married in 2015 but divorced after eight months.
The Pretoria High Court ordered the ex-couple to divide and evenly share their estate in 2022 because they married in community of property.
Maake KaNcube responded in an Instagram post, saying, “I can not believe I was married to a con artist and you guys called me names when I realized my mistake and divorced her after eight months!‌
“I’m not pursuing this case to humiliate my ex-wife; I want the truth to be known so that I may help young men who may fall prey to women like my ex-wife.
“For the record, I must declare emphatically that I do not believe all women act or do things like my ex-wife did to me.
“Just be careful and conduct your own character assessment before committing to anyone. The shares don’t really matter to me; our marriage was dysfunctional and based on untruth from the start, and my ex-wife’s misrepresentation is even more vile than the other things she did. I mean, the woman attempted to change her children’s surnames to mine without my knowing, and I would not have known if I hadn’t overheard a phone conversation between her and her mother.”
