Following Zahara’s death, fans have started sharing videos and photographs of the award-winning singer and guitarist. Some fans discovered films of the actress singing for the late former President Nelson Mandela, as well as a tape in which she discusses how she wishes to be remembered.

Afiba, a media celebrity, took to his X page to share a touching video of one of the Loliwe singer’s last performances. The video shows the brilliant vocalist pouring her heart out on stage. The caption on the post read:

“I saw your last performance, and it was so different, passionate, and dark. I cried my heart out because you said you weren’t feeling well, and we rushed to the motel.

“We canceled our plans for the rest of the evening because you wanted to nap.” I’ll always love you, @ZaharaSA.”

Speaking exclusively to Briefly News, Asandiswa Mhlauli, alias Afiba, who shared the video and attended the event, described the performance as poignant. He said that the event took place in Cape Town’s Langa neighborhood, where people of all ages and races gathered to watch the singer do what she did best.

“The video I uploaded was from a Langa Township celebration, which was organized by the City of Cape Town to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The Langa township closed Washington thoroughfare, Langa’s longest and largest thoroughfare, and it was jam-packed with people eager to meet Zahara.

“It was so emotional and overwhelming for us to witness this kind of love in real life; it was so pure and genuine, and it was a reassurance to us that no matter how much people try to discredit or take away from you, they will never take away your God-given talent and the gift of healing that comes with it, so we cried tears of joy. Myself and Aviwe Mdani were chanting “I love you,” “Uxolo,” which meant “don’t cry, it’s okay, take and accept the love.”

Many social media users expressed their emotions in response to the video. Fans claimed the performance was incredible.

@Ke_Mpho_M commented: “All she wanted to do was to sing and heal people through her music, and she delivered ❤”

@upendo_nzuri responded: “Oh, man. ☹️ This makes me quite sad. I wish life was kinder to her, man. ☹️”

@DubwNsindiso commented: “One thing I noticed about Zahara’s recent performances was that she was very hurt; I’m not sure what, but she was heavy and hurt. May her soul find peace.”
